PNG to SVG Converter
Turn any PNG, JPG or WebP image into a scalable SVG file in one click — no upload, no sign-up. Pick the output size, keep the background transparent and continue editing the result directly in the SVG editor.
How to convert a PNG to an SVG
- Choose an image. Drop a PNG, JPG or WebP file onto the drop zone — or click it to pick a file. The image never leaves your browser.
- Pick the output size. Keep the original resolution or render the canvas at 512, 1024 or 2048 px; leave “Transparent background” on to preserve alpha, or switch it off for a solid white canvas.
- Convert, download or edit. Hit Convert to SVG — the SVG downloads with one click and the SVG editor opens automatically with your image already on the canvas.
PNG to SVG FAQ
How do I convert a PNG to an SVG?
Drop your image on the drop zone above, choose the output size and click Convert to SVG. The conversion is instant and the resulting SVG can be downloaded or opened directly in the built-in SVG editor.
Is the converted SVG a real vector graphic?
The SVG wraps your image as an embedded base64 resource inside a scalable vector container — it scales to any size without extra quality loss and stays fully editable. Tracing the pixels into geometric shapes is a different (and lossy) process this tool intentionally does not perform.
Which image formats are supported?
PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP — the formats every modern browser can decode. GIF, BMP and other formats are not supported; convert them to PNG first.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas — the file is never uploaded, so private screenshots and confidential graphics stay private.
Need the opposite direction? Use the SVG to PNG converter — or open the SVG editor to draw a true vector icon from scratch.
